When your character defeats monsters and Raid Bosses, there's a chance to get Adena. Adena gets into characters' inventory automatically, however there are some rules of distribution.
Scenario
Distribution rules
Defeating a monster alone
Adena goes automatically into the inventory of the character who's defeated the mob.
Defeating a monster by several characters who don't belong to a party
Adena goes automatically into the inventory of the character who's contributed the most.
Defeating a monster by several characters who belong to a party
Adena is equally distributed between party members. If a party member is out of the distribution zone, adena is equally distributed between the rest of the party.
Defeating a Raid Boss in a command channel (concerns those bosses who drop adena)
If the command channel leader belongs to the party who's contributed the most, adena is evenly distributed between the members of that party. If a different party has made the greatest contribution, adena drops on the ground, and the right to pick it up belongs to the command channel leader.
